Blogs, Journals and Web-based Storytelling Workshop

Emma Jane Hogbin will help you to get started on your own on-line web journal in this mini three week workshop. This course is appropriate for just about anyone who's wondered what this "blog" thing is all about. Topics include finding a spot for your on-line journal, the basics of blogging software and how to share photos on-line. Participants will also be able to register for a "daily prompt" sent out via email. This is also perfect for those keeping a paper journal/artist's book!

These prompts will also be suitable for those of you who already keep a paper journal but are also interested in taking your words on-line. The daily prompts are completely optional.

Format

This workshop is available as a one-day workshop, an evening lecture, or a three week on-line course. If you are interested in hosting this workshop, please get in touch.

Those taking the course on-line should be able to dedicate at least four hours per week to this course. Lessons will be posted on Wednesday. You will then have one week to read through the lesson for the week, visit the sample web sites in the readings and complete the exercise. You will be able to post your questions and thoughts to the class for feedback. I will monitor the discussion and respond to questions daily. You will not need special computer stuff to participate. The tools you are using to read this page will be enough!
