Public Lectures

A public lecture has the unique challenge of an unknown audience. The content of the presentation must be accessible and appealing to everyone who chooses to attend. But above and beyond its content, the speaker must be able to engage their audience for more than the duration of the talk. The sign of a successful presentation is one that outlives its presenter through discussion and personal exploration.

All public presentations are delivered by Emma Hogbin. She has been delivering public lectures for more than two thirds of her life, has won awards, and has inspired more than a few people to reach beyond what they thought was possible.

In addition to these public lectures, each of the workshops can be modified to suit a shorter, public lecture-style presentation.

Delivering Presentations

This presentation was designed in response to the many bad presentations that we have all endured. It addresses both the preparation for and the presentation of technical topics. Open source software packages are featured in this presentation.
